SEVEN SEAS ANNOUNCES KASHIMASHI & 3 OTHER JAPANESE LICENSES
(LOS ANGELES, July 31, 2006) – Seven Seas Entertainment is proud to formally announce the acquisition of 4 new Japanese licenses–manga series Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~, Kodomo no Jikan, Neconoclasm, and the novel series Shinigami no Ballad. First announced during Seven Seas’ panels at Anime Expo and the San Diego Comic-Con, each of these new titles brings something unique to Seven Seas’ ever-expanding line-up of manga and novels.

Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~, about a boy who becomes a girl caught in an all-girl love triangle, and Shinigami no Ballad, about a young female grim reaper who reaps souls but also helps those in need, are both hit anime series that have already gained considerable buzz in North America for their high production quality. Kodomo no Jikan is a fun-filled comedy romp about a group of school girls who do nothing but try to put their innocent male teacher into compromising situations. And Neconoclasm is a can’t-miss collection of gag strips featuring hilarious cat girls drawn in the super-cute spirit of Di Gi Charat.

Please tell me Kodomo no Jikan isn't lolicon.

I think there was a hentai anime of the same name, so I'm hoping that's why ANN's entry for it says it's Adults Only and contains explicit sexual content.

Because, you know, third graders. Eew.

Yeah, that's what confused me too.

In the manga, the little school girls tease their innocent male teacher to get him in trouble.

But I heard from my friend that they show their panties and take naughty/explicit pics to get their lolicon rapist teacher in trouble.

I'm guessing Seven Seas licensed the former and not the latter.

Kodomo no Jikan is just a very funny teacher comedy. It's kind of like GTO, but with some moe-looking 3rd graders and you've got Kodomo. ^_^

Aha. This would explain the new top picture additions. I rather wish Shinigami no Ballad was going to be in full manga format. It sounds like the most promising title. Who knows, maybe I shall break out of my box and try reading something novelized.

As for Kodomo... Not too interested in that. The premise sounds rather iffy, especially when you've worked with third graders.

Actually, the Shinigami no Ballad novels are where the series actually started. It's the only way to fully enjoy the series in the way it was originally intended by the author.

The teacher is not a lolicon rapist. He's just a newbie teacher whom the three main characters are picking on... Well, maybe have a crush on is more accurate for two of them.

The fun comes from the language one of the girls uses, which is anything but 3rd grade in content.

BTW, I reported the ANN reference as an error about a month ago, and am still waiting for a reply.

JBV^_^

I was referring to something else.

But actually, the ANN reference is RIGHT. There IS an anime called Kodomo no Jikan...and after doing a google image search...

It's quite adult. :saaad:

I've also reported the error, spotted it a while ago and was afraid people would be looking for information and making this mistake but so far ANN has also not responded to me.

Anyway I'm really excited about these titles!

MOTHER@^#$#$^ HELL YES!!!!!!!

SESSHA WINS!!!

------------------------

Adam-sama...you have no idea how happy this makes this poor Sessha...

After having Tsukuyomi finally come to the states but being so disapointed by the 1st episode...

KODOMO NO JIKAN COMES TO SESSHA'S RESCUE.

...

While done lurking on /h/ in 4chan, then moseying on over to notkochan, Sessha discovered the full frontal (not in nudity mind you) hilarity of Kodomo no Jikan. Sessha just couldn't believe the sheer premise of it.

Then Sessha downloaded the first volume from a nice notkochan Anonymous.

...

Sessha's been dancing for joy with each reading ever since. And Sessha couldn't even read it.

Kudos 7Seas.

Sessha thinks that the committee that voted to buy the rights to Kodomo no Jikan should get a raise-nii.

Kodomo no Jikan was quietly canceled a while back by Seven Seas. In my opinion it was an extremely wise move.

You can see how SS dodged the loli bullet in 500K and 1M bandwidth versions of an "unairable" commercial for the anime.

Oh god, no, not that again. As far as 7s is concerned Nymphet is dead and buried and there's no need whatsoever to revive a one-year-old thread about it. Besides, the cancellation wasn't all that quiet as you can read here, or here, or here.

There isn't exactly a proper forum to discuss it now, is there? I remembered this thread and since I didn't have time to look through the entire bloody forum archive, I posted.

If you're a mod, go ahead and delete it. I don't know what the hell a "Governor" is, but apparently it's your duty to cast the first stone when someone engages in thread necromancy.

Indeed. You may want to think about this for a minute.

This forum does have a search function. Which works surprisingly well. You may want to think about that for a minute either.
